About the Book
The personal ad posed a simple question: "Are you happy? If not, consult Mr. Parker Pyne." The answer is a resounding no for a jealous wife who suspects her husband of infidelity, for a lonely widow driven to assume a new identity, for a distraught mother whose son has been kidnapped, and for the finance of a strangely reclusive bride-to-be. The sort who has a knack for investigating affairs of the heart. He gives the same answer to every single problem and success is the result.
This is a collection of 12 short stories that have as a protagonist Parker Pyne. In the first 6 stories he has an indirect role, as he's only told the cases and then arranges what is necessary to see them to a good end, without him having an active role. In the last 6 stories he has a more active role as in holidays he is approached, on the various places he passes, by his traveller companions to resolve the problems that appear
